I’ve posted this in the 034 Street Density Mounts thread but I am looking for more input from the general public forum.
I had these street density motor mounts (65 durameter rubber) installed a month ago after my oem mounts failed on me after 77k miles. I am starting to really regret ever going this route after giving the mounts some time and a few hundred miles to “settle” in. At a cold start, the car gets crazy cabin vibrations as soon as the engine starts but goes away shortly after. The main cabin vibration issue I am experiencing on a daily basis is when I’m slightly stepping on the gas pedal after a dead stop. It’s extremely annoying and everyone in my car seems to tell me they feel the car vibrate when I slightly feather on the gas.
Any ideas on why it’s this bad? Could there have been anything that the shop might’ve done or not done to enable this issue? I was under the impression that these would be a great addition for a Stage 2 car. But this has been the worst investment I’ve made to the car and it takes away all the comfort this car has to offer. Makes me feel like I’m driving in my K20 civic hatchback from back in the day. I’m just very upset now that I’ll have to sell these and have to spend money on oem mounts and another $700 for labor. I do not recommend these to anyone who is willing to sacrifice smoothness and comfort. Maybe if you’re tracking and doing drag racing all the time, these might fit your need.
Hopefully, some of you can give me some pointers on what I should look for when inspecting the mounts before I have the dealer install the oem mounts some time next week.
