I on the precipice of doing it and would appreciate feedback from folk who did it,

    With that said,
I got APR Stage II already done and stock rest of exhaust with Center Resonator still in place!!

Doubtful. I don't have a 4.0T engine, but if it is a true reso. it has a straight through pipe in the center. Such resos just tune sound by absorbing unpleasant frequencies. Every performance car I've ever owned with resos just sounded really bad if removed and made no greater power.

When installing big downpipes, especially catless, I had to add a reso to tame that drone and raspiness, and lost no power by doing so.

Your car may be different, but true resos are not mufflers and should have no impact on power.

    My bad,
I should have clarified that I was talking about SOUND GAINS rather than power gains!

    Thanks

For what it's worth, I did it on my S6 and it was the best $250 I've ever spent. The sound is incredible, no drone, sounds menacing when you're foot's in it and can be relatively quiet when in comfort mode. I get alot of compliments on how the car sounds. In my opinion, it's a (mild) hybrid of a Camaro mixed with a Gallardo, muscley & exotic at the same time.

BTW, very jealous of the S8 !!!!

Would you suggest losing the center muffs/resonators or the rear mufflers?

Atleast on my car, I just replaced the center resonator (closest to the mufflers) with an X-pipe.

    Why X or H pipe?!
How does it hurt to have straight pipes?!

The s8 already has an x pipe...I have an since plus and when I removed the center resonator the sound only increases slightly... But what actually changes are the crackles and pops... You get now of it and sounds pretty good.

However it's not loud...I even got catless dps and it still isn't loud enough when I want it to be loud. I don't want to be obnoxious but sometimes wish I would have gotten the sports exhaust.
