    Going Stage 2+ 034 Motorsport

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

So im about to go Stage2 + sometime before end of month, this process requires the HE upgrade (MercRacing or PLM) and the crank pulley upgrade.

    My questions are:

-Are there differences in brands of crank pulleys and sizes?
The one 034 sells is the one from JHM: https://store.034motorsport.com/jhm-...6-a7-3-0t.html

-How long can you drive after installing the crank pulley + new file until you install the HE upgrade?
-For those that went from Stage 2 to Stage 2+: How much of a diff have you notice performance wise?

    Thanks for the feedback

Stage 2 -> DP with a 187mm pulley is like Stage 1 -> Stage II times two.

I'd do cooling before you go DP. Especially in Cali.

I had both supercharger Pulley and crank Pulley on their stage 1 file for a few months before I went DP file. I did my HE a month after being DP. Noticed some heat soak but that’s it.

Cooling is definitely a requirement for stage 2+ so I would go a little more aggressive on the pulley ratio. Jhm sells a 187mm. The difference in power is significant

Nice. I have a 183mm and have been thinking if it's worth jumping to 187 or 189

What is the difference between 179 and 187 ? How is 187 in terms of Performance, reliability/longevility to the car…(Any diff in MPGs)

The jump form Stage I to Stage II if you did that is a small step up in HP but a big step up in torque every where.

Going Dual Pulley from stage II is like that two fold.

Reliability and longevity I can’t comment on this from 179 to 187 since I’ve only been on it for 3 weeks . Performance it’s a noticeably instant notice . More lower end torque (quicker boost ) . MPG is the same , e40 here tho so I can’t really comment either . Lol I’d just go with the 187 of the Bat to be honest . Cooling is a must tho . I have a PML set up

I run the JHM 187mm crank pulley. It’s a great piece, great quality, and the car revs noticeably quicker due to the lighter weight.

We have cats already , he saying that by going to a dual ppulley setup will create even more heat than usual eventually burning or clogging up your cats . You won’t get any awkward smell from your stock cats while they work. The smell comes if you decide to remove your cats, hollow them out or install a test pipe. The benefit would be to have less of a restricted airflow

You can’t get e40 out of a pump you need to mix e85 with standard gas. Unfortunately here in California we could only get 91 . I have a ethanol sensor installed in my vehicle that allows me to calculate the exact ethanol running through my fuel lines. I went with PML because mercracing wasn’t out when I installed my cooling . as far as adding the heat exchanger at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you go with they all do almost the same function yes there’s more mods like adding an extra pump but you know what I mean.

Ethanol sensor that calculates ethanol that sounds like a lot of math/physic lab work lol.
034 also told me that in order to get the e40 flash they fiest require an upgrade of HPFP.

    Thanks for all the info.

Measuring ethanol with the sensor very easy, fill up couple gallons of a e85 and some of the 91 , check your gauge or whatever device you decide to go with. I personally went with flueit ( Bluetooth link to ur phone ) and yes you’ll need a HPFP to run the e40 file . And 034 installed my PLM . Labor wasn’t much like 300 or something . There’s a good shop in Santa Clara that I recently tried out with extremely competitive prices not to mention good customer service. Dubclinic the owner is Bernard .

Yea I know Bernard he's the man I'll probably never take my car anywhere else. But for $300 at 034 I'd probably do it there so that they can flash the car at the same time.

1- From this thread below Chris@EPL is stating dampened pulley are the most reliable and if I understood correctly Fluidampr is the way to go for those.
How many have switched their OEM Pulleys to dampened Pulleys?

    IMG_5190.jpg

2-How do you guys calculate ratio?
For instance the SC pulley I have from 034 is 57.70mm
And say I was to go with JHM 187 how would I calculate the ratio and how do you determine whether that ratio is good or bad

I've been running DP with FD194mm for almost a year now, that mid-range torque is a beauty. I've encountered a ghost misfire here and there but now that temps are warming up seems like its gone?? Weird shit bro.
See link below for E85 station all over the Bay and Sac region. Good luck and definitely upgrade your cooling system before DP or add meth to keep AIT's in check. For ratio divide crank #/upper pulley=ratio.

Divide crank pulley size by snout pulley size. 187/57.7= 3.24
