    Weird noise

So last week noticed this noise which sounded like the water pump getting ready to go ( w/p and timing belt job done past december). However this weekend it went away and everything was fine. Get up this morning and all is good, until this afternoon it came back. It has changed the exhaust not a bit as well. No loss in power or drivability, no loss in coolant, no CELS. Not really sure where to start looking really. Car is 01 stage 2. TIA

Well, let's start with is it top end or bottom end? Rear or front of motor?

Does it increase in speed with the motor rpms?
If so , is it more in sync with the belt accessories or head or crank rpms?
Sounds like a crapped h20 pump which you say was just replaced? It was a new part?
Try the old screw driver to the ear

I know you said that you recently did your timing belt, but I don't know what you replaced, so I'll tell my experience.
I started hearing a noise in the dead center of the engine but didn't lose any power or fluids. Long story short, my belt tensioner PULLEY failed. The center of it became hollow which made the tensioner useless and yes, the engine head was destroyed.

Not saying that you did, but I hope that you replaced everything pertaining to the timing components.
