Seat Memory resetting, messed up fob or something more?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have 2 fobs, one of which works perfectly and the other of which has always given me trouble for reliability. Recently, I have been entering with the worse fob and my seats and mirrors reset. The seat moves all the way back in the reclined position and the mirrors move all the way in so I can almost see myself. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a quick fix for this or am I just setting the memory seats wrong?

Go into the MMI and disable the feature that allows the seats to automatically adjust based on what FOB is being used?

Have you checked the voltage for the battery in the FOB that's giving you problems? It should be 3.0V. If you check it with a multimeter and it's above 3.1V or below 2.8V, you will start to see some odd behavior from your FOB. I've had this happen at least twice in the last 3 years. I just replace the battery and it returns to normal operation.

Also, sometimes the FOBs seem to drop out of sync if they haven't been used with the car, but not entirely. Some convenience features do not work with the FOB, such as opening the door without first pressing unlock or unrolling the windows by holding unlock (If you've coded this with Carista or VCDS). This happens to me with my secondary FOB that I rarely use. I find that if I haven't used it in about 5 days, convenience features will not work. What I do to resync it is I unlock the door with the FOB button, then plug the key into the ignition and start the car by pressing the key in instead of using the Start/Stop button. Let it run for about 30 seconds, shut it down and remove the key. After that, all of my convenience features work just fine.

I'm new to the MMI, I will do this! Had the car for 2 weeks, so always learning. Coming from a corolla this is much more deep in terms of features. I will try the resync as well! thank you a lot

When you set the memory for the seat, it remembers which FOB you had in at the time. If you change FOB, it changes to the other saved settings for the driver's seat.

Have to disable on the MMI, I believe.
