Hey everyone, took the car out last week to run it on the strip. I'm from NJ so they closed down drag racing at raceway park. I went to Island drag way. Its a higher elevation track, I believe 511 ft above sea level. I got four runs in and as it got cooler I ran a bit faster. I will only post two slips, one with my highest trap and one with my best ET. Overall the car seems to average 12.7 at 106 mph at that elevation. I'll be going to Atco tomorrow, its a much lower elevation track. Hoping for a 12.5 but, we'll see. Car is completely stock with nothing taken out of it.

S4_Pedro you should! It's 4:30pm to 10pm tomorrow. F80Dreamer, it's not but I think it can do a tad bit better.

Nice times. I also think you will improve going to Atco.

    What's your launching technique?

I hold down the traction control button until it says off on the dash. I stage second on the strip so I know I'm the one holding up the lights. As soon as I get both of the staging lights I immediately hit the gas and wait for the boost to build. It only builds to i think like 2 bars before max on the meter. They usually hit the lights right after so by the time the boost builds and the green light shows on the tree, I'm ready to go. Then I just let go of the break. Maybe I'll record the next runs I do.

PL, you're facing the same quandary I did at the strip: do you want to race the car next to you, or just compete against yourself and try to get your best E/T?

If the former, you're doing it right.

If the latter, ignore the lights on the tree. Just sit there and build boost in launch control until you have max boost--then go. remember, the lights on the tree only matter for your Reaction Time. your Elapsed Time doesn't start ticking until you leave the line. using this technique, I chopped a couple tenths off my quarter time. disadvantage is you can't really race the guy next to you. :(

So, I went last Friday to Atco. Surprisingly, my ET was still 12.7 but I trapped 108 mph consistently. I think it may have been the way the track was prepped? Not sure. Either way, I plan on doing an exhaust and either the DTUK box or the JB4 one.
