WTB: Looking for an RS4 convertible in New England

Just like the post states, I am looking for an RS4 convertible. Originally was looking to pick up a Sedan but I have always wanted a convertible. Since this won't be my only sports car I figure adding a convertible makes more sense.

I would like to find one just over or under 100k, accidents don't scare me if they were fixed properly and the vehicle is priced appropriately. I am open on color, just no silver(unless it was a deal I couldn't pass on). I work at a car dealership in Ct, I would buy it through the store so getting money to the owner will be of no problem. I would like to stay under 24k, preferable under or around 20k.

Good luck with your search. To be honest these things are everywhere. They don't move fast on the market as everyone typically wants the Sedan. I think you have the upper hand because a lot of Dealers probably want them off their lot. So you could offer a lower price. I know this doesn't help much but just my opinion and what I typically see. I'm in Boston area so if you ever wanted someone to check out a car around here, I'd be happy to help

Yea that one was a realist or something. But they supposedly sold it. I contacted them the minute it popped up again.

OP Good luck with your search. And I agree with the other reply. Black cabs are everywhere. Just didn’t contact them to see how anxious they are to move it, but probably since some of these have been sitting for 3-6 months now or more.

Yea That yellow one is way out of my budget. If the wife didn't want a bigger house I would be ordering an new RS5. This is just a toy that will be driven a few months a year to keep me happy till I can save up again. Trying to spend as little as possible and rather find a nice high millage around 100k miles. they seam to sell at a good price. The convertibles do tend to sit longer, but the it seams the low mileage ones are listed at the moon..

Yea I called a week ago and they said they had a deposit on it. But yea they had it listed on CarGurus for $39,998, I believe. And yes crazy low miles. I was tempted to pick up the twin in Tempe, AZ for $38,997 w only 21k miles (completely stock) bc it was closer to me. But now that 21k one is in Chicago w a bunch of modes for $47k. Dealer apparently bought it and mod’ed out. Nice mods but almost a pity to do that to a 21k car.

It looked immaculate to me.... just yellow and a convertible lol. Something about that body style that's silly looking to me. If I had u limited funds I would have snagged it to turn our 3.2 into a an rs4 avant

I would rather not buy one that is Silver but I'm not picky if its the right car/right price (so I would still consider the silver). I'm also not in a rush, I just missed a Mugello blue one that was miss-priced in Hartford (way to low) a member in CA scooped it up before I even had a chance to look at it. Was online for less than 12 hours..

I always wanted a convertible, in the end this wont be my only fun car.

that is a nice one, not a huge fan of sight unseen purchases. I'll contact the guy but Silver is my least Favorite color. has a minor damage on the carfax..

I looked at that one when it was at Audi of greenfield. To me it’s 2k to much and they wouldn’t budge. Nice car though.

The ones that are 80-90k are a better value. Just missed out on the ones locally..

Still looking. Varsity ford in MI has one I’m having inspected in a week. Already know it needs a carbon clean and a suspension. Think it puts the total investment into not worth it territory.

Decent mileage though. How do you know both need to be replaced? May be worth grabbing and sitting on for a little bit then grab a decent used suspension set up when it comes up for sale. This way, you still get what looks to be a nice car cosmetically with lower miles compared to a lot of sedans out there.

Yes, carbon cleaned is needed. Confirmed from the dealer close by that did a ton of service. 3 month prior to it being traded in. It as in multiple times for multiple cylinder misfires. They did fuel injection cleans which put a bandaid on things but suggested a full carbon clean 3 times. The previous owner had an injection clean done just before turning it in.

Varsity Ford already disclosed front passenger and rear driver side has leaks in the suspension.

By the time I pay for shipping and fix everything I know about I’ll be into the car for 27k or so. That’s the stuff I know about. Cars not worth that much..

Unless the dealer takes a 2-2500 loss on the car I don’t think they sell it. Shame, some poor sucker will end up over paying at auction to find it needs all the necessary maintenance the previous owner neglected.
