200% Engine Load and 200 g/s MAF Readings

    Hello All,

I decided to do some data logging on my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T the other day since I’ve had poor engine performance lately, and I got some rather strange results. The car has a stage 1 tune, among other small mods such as turbo-back exhaust. I did a couple small pulls up to around 6000 rpm, but only about 75% throttle. When I looked through the logs I noticed that there were times where my engine load was supposedly up to 200% and the mass flow rate reached as high as 200 g/m. On idle at operating temps the engine load is about 30%, mass flow of around 4.5-5 g/s, and 18-20 In.Hg vac. I had just replaced my MAF element with a brand new OEM units since I had suspected it could have been an issue. I also know my cam chain tension needs to get replaced again (since I replaced it with a cheap one the first time around...) but I wouldn’t expect that to be causing my issue. So my main question here is what could be the cause of reading a 200% engine load and an abnormally high MAF reading? I’m not sure how engine load is determined, so that would be a good place to start.

I'd try a different MAF sensor.

I just put in a brand new MAF sensor though. I guess I can try putting the old unit back in, and see if it changes anything.

Bump. Just ran some more logs and noticed that the car is running very rich as well. My partial fuel trim adaptation maxes out at -25%. Help.
