Have an 01b5s4 avant w 100k. Brought it in for a leaking water coolant hose ... ended up doing some heavy work- water pump, timing belt, timing chain, tensioners, breather hose assembly, you name it - $4k in all.

Driving it home today picked up two codes:
P1519 air intake system and p1522 solenoid valve.

Can anyone help suggest if/how the recent work may be connected to this?

Is there a way to address this without pulling the engine??

    Many thanks -

    P1519 - Camshaft Adjustment Bank 1: Malfunction
    P1522 - Camshaft Adjustment; Bank 2: Malfunction

Those two codes are for your cam tensioners. Could be a few different things such as:

    - the timing belt wasn't installed properly, either the cam tool wasn't used, the new belt was NOT pretensioned to 15nm before tightening the cam sprockets, the cam tool alignment pin holes in the cams are worn...
    - Both cam tensioners are bad (unlikely)
    - a fuse blew for your cam tensioners
    - your cam tensioners are not plugged in
    - your cam chains were not installed correctly

First step is check the fuses that control engine timing (fuses 29, 34, and 43), and check to make sure the cam tensioners are plugged in.
If they check out, you need to use VAGCOM and check engine block 91? to see the cam phase angle and make sure its in the range of +/-4. Also, if you want to test the solenoids, they should be between 10-18 ohms across the 2 connector pins right off each solenoid.
