Lumpy idle when cold 2.0tdi PD engine (BRD)

    Hi all.
I have two problems with my car that I think may be down to the one original problem.
The car has a lumpy idle in two spots when warming up. It’s fine when cold and also fine when up to temp. There are two places on the warm up when the car sort of jumps on idle. The throttle becomes a bit erratic too. When I touch the pedal there’s nothing and then it revs up. Quite odd. But it’s fine when warm and also when cold.

Also, I get egr and shudder valve faults. Now I know these are down to a dirty intake manifold which I’m planning to take off and clean. Not sure if I can get the rear EGR ‘cooler?’ Feeder pipe off tho from the exhaust tho. It looks pretty deep in there and I know that’s dirty as I’ve done an EGR clean before and it was bad.

Any advice or tips? Thanks 👍

Look into eliminating the egr system after cleaning it.

All your filters are good/new-ish, yes? Having owned a few diesels, it's critical to change fuel & oil filters regularly. I believe your problem is more likely with the egr system, but I believe it's worth mentioning.

Oil filter is new. Fuel filter not sure. It’s on the list.
I have thought about deleting the egr but want that have repercussions somehow? UK MOTs are getting a lot stricter on diesels.
