Before you possibly ask, yes; (almost) brand new 2.0 coilpacks paired with BKR7EIX Iridium plugs. With those are a stage 1+ from Motoza and Bosch 550cc injectors.

So driving normally is fine (besides the much needed motor mounts) except when I go 70% to 100% throttle after 3000rpms, the car starts jerking. Sometimes I can even hear backfiring when this happens.

When this happens badly, the engine light will start blinking but then go away when I drive normal again. Isn't the blinking light for bad coil packs?

I just need some Ideas. If the coil packs are bad, then why would it drive like normal again? I feel like it may be blowing out the spark. That's the only Idea I have, so any other input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Ryan

Do you have any way to scan for dtc's? You can probably narrow it down to one cylinder. I have had coil packs that broke down under load but otherwise performed fine.

    I have:
P0300 Random/Multiple misfire detected, upper limit exceeded
p0301 Cylinder 1: misfire detected, upper limit exceeded
p0299 boost pressure regulation: control range not reached

Should I try changing around the packs to see if I can narrow it down? See if I get the misfire in another cylinder?

That would certainly be a good start. Move coil pack from cylinder 1 to another position and see if the misfire follows the coil pack.

    Will do!

If it's bad, is it okay to buy a single coilpack and replace it directly?
