    3.0 squeal

I’ve attached a video below, I know it may be difficult to hear where it’s coming from. It sounds to be centered and lower. Is it of if the belt up front? Vacuum pump?

2012 A6 3.0 TFSI. 106k. Just accomplished the 105k service at Audi last Wednesday and they tell me the Vacuum pump has a small oil leak. I’m not super familiar with the vacuum pump and what it provides source for, but is it a possible culprit?

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Doesn’t seem to squeal when cold. Nor under demand. When driving it occurs when you let off the accelerator. Usually around 1600-1900 rpm. Theory worked until I went through a security gate and then it was horrible around 1000 rpm. Putting in neutral while cruising relieved the sound, but clearly in the video it’s parked and it starts again.

I'm not aware of any vacuum pump on this vehicle but there is a secondary air pump below the air filter housing. Maybe that is the source of the noise.

The vacuum pump is the brake booster in the top right. Not on the accessory belt as I’ve learned though, nor any belt for that matter. Im being told its probably a dty or worn bearing in a pulley. Off to the audi shop, again.
