    Brake and rotors replacement

Hey guys, I need help with suggestions on replacing my brakes and rotors. Audi dealer quoted me mad money for OEM parts but I rather buy the parts myself and take it to the mechanic. Can you suggest a kit or brand, something mid price range, no more than $500 for front and rear. Thanks guys

    Brake and rotors replacement

Akebono pads and Zimmerman or Meyle rotors. I ordered from rockauto. Very happy.

Low brake dust and I like the “less bite” compared to the oem metallic pads. Makes it easier in stop and go traffic and parking ect..

I actually used ECS slotted rotors and EBC red pads. Very pleased, performing very well.

    Brake and rotors replacement

What are your goals for braking? Low cost, low dust, low noise, cold braking, high performance?

For $550 you’d have to go with very affordable rotors which is fine and then put the rest of your budget on the appropriate pads for your application. Also don’t forget a good bleed.

Zimmerman rotors with OEM supplier pads via Europa parts. Right around your $550 price point for parts. Use CRC Brake Quiet on the back of the pads and bed them properly.

I got 55k and I drive very aggressive.

I’m looking for performance over everything else.

    Slotted ECS rotors w/Stoptech (Link)

Got them installed last week. Though there was initial heavy squeaking, everything has been great once I bedded the brakes.

    +1 me to this.

Brake pads warning light came on around 32k miles. Dealer quoted me around $1k if I remember for brake service.
    Both from ECS
Front Euro Ceramic Brake Pad Set Akebono = $106.95
Zimmermann Front Brake Rotors - Pair (345x30)
    Featuring the 'Coat Z: Anti-corrosion' = $177.90
Labor Cost from Indie shop = $158.00 Front brakes only.
    Total = $442.85
Definitely felt the difference with the less bite when you step on the brakes compared to OEM pads but you get less brake dust and it's quiet. I am going for the same setup for the rears when the time comes to replace it.

I'll be needing an all new set by the end of the year.

I literally just put new pads and rotors from brakeperformance on my wife's car Saturday. Granted it's not an S4, but I have no complaints about the quality of their parts and stopping is nice and quiet.
