So i recently bought a 2005 S4 and it is the most amazing car ever (let me brag for a second). The way it drives is amazing, the smoothness is unmatched, the interior is beautiful, and all around is a badass car! So i have all the records of a brand new clutch put in, brand new timing chain, brand new exhaust system, brand new suspension. The car started making this really low humming sound by the front right of the car (passenger side). When i warm up the car under 1k it doesnt make the noise but once it settles under it starts to make a humming sound in and out but no consistent pattern. I notice when i engage the car in gear it starts but once i get going it stops and drives fine. The check engine is not on, and the car drives/accelerates flawlessly. I contacted the seller (who is a gear head) and he said "he thinks its the fuel pump, that is a low pressure issue based on my description." He did say that he did not think it was a LIFE OR DEATH issue but i would love another opinion. I will be including a video with this post. The clicking is not what i am talking about but when the hum starts i grab my phone and adjust it. I also show how when i engage the car it starts. *PLEASE USE HEADPHONES
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
P.s. i did try to search for the problem on the forum but im not the best navigating through a bunch of threads at work!!!
