    Need Recommendation *Brakes*

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking for any insight or recommendation on higher performing brake pads for the B9 Quattro

Current dilemma: BBK vs some great pads, already running stainless brake lines.

I prefer the less expensive alternative.

    TIA

less expensive would be pads...i think stoptech and brembo already make some no? our cars 4 pot which is pretty decent IMO...

Completely agree with you, that’s why I’d rather keep stock setup and just get better pads, maybe better rotors down the line too.

Will check out Brembo and Stoptech

Pads will make a difference in brake feel. Rotors will make no difference. Get the slotted if you like the look but they do not make a difference. Stay away from drilled because the rotors tend to crack around the drill holes and the holes offer no advantage.

Yup, agreed since I track the car I know slotted/dimpled rotors will make a small difference with heat discharge but never drilled. No brembo pads available, going to see about stoptech

slotted will actually give you better bite but will wear pads a bit quicker.... i'm going that route afterwards :p and i believe stoptech has some..ebc too... well i know it'll come just dont know when

Agreed, but def going to wear out my OEMs first before getting new/upgrade rotors. No pads with Stoptech or Brembo, I’ll check out EBC.

I’m hoping they’re my salvation lol
otherwise will bankrupt myself getting the RS BBK from Europrice

yeah same...and no i was told by stoptech they will make it, and ebc told me they are available themselves... theres a set on sale right now not from europrice... but its also carbon ceramic too.. im still maybe a year away so I'm not stressing yet .... Girodisc will custom make light weight 2 piece slotted rotors for me if i can get at least 10 people in for a GB... but it'll run about 800 USD per set... just rotors ... kinda too much but girodisc is very good ...

How soon are you looking to move forward with Girodisc? I may want to jump on that deal if it’s about 6-8 months down from now

I’ve looked and couldn’t find any pads for our b9 just yet. I’d like to change them for the track. Was hoping Hawk HPS had offerings, but no such luck. So far, only rotor/pad kits I’ve seen were offered from ECS Tuning. I’ll run the stock for now until someone brings us some goodies.

@Misanorotrs4, which stainless lines did u go with? Feel a big difference in pedal feel?

I got the ECS stainless lines and they made anhuge difference. There’s a small squeek from the brake pedal after installation but otherwise great feel.

I mean, I can ask the q5 forum and see if we can get more people on board..the more people..hopefully it'll be cheaper.. 800USD for 2 front 2 piece lightweight rotors.. kinda out of my budget to be honest...

true but not necessary if rotors have very little wear, i don’t believe in service/maintenance upsells lol.

Girodisc just told me there’s still not enough interest to mass produce ... I’ll start a thread and see what kinda interest we’re getting ...

EBC yellow stuff will be available in a couple of months... so the rep says. They are already listed on their site but show has out of stock.

I'm also looking into performance brakes right now for my 2017 A4 Quattro. Do you also have issues with the stock brakes pulsating when braking at higher speeds? Are you feeling them overheat at all?
