Question Can Anyone Help Me With LED Lighting??

Hi, I have searched around the forum but still can't work out what I exactly need, hoping someone here knows a little about it
I want to put in some LEDs I’ve found the licence plate ones from eBay I think these are fine https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253514484761
And I also found this set for the interior which I think are ok https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142664166901 but when it comes to the sidelights/citylights I saw so many that said they are for the B7 but all seemed to have different numbers next to the descriptions e.g T10/W5/501 etc and I have no idea which are the right ones, also people on here were talking about error codes, needing resisters etc...

Can anyone tell me which ones I need for sure? (preferably from eBay or Amazon) And the same goes with Spotlight/Foglight bulbs? Btw my car is a is a 2005 B7 and I have the Halogen headlights not the Xenons as from what I gathered from here it make a difference.

Also am I right in saying I can change these bulbs without having to remove bumper and headlights? as I had the bumper and headlights out just last week as I was spraying the headlight chrome strip and grey panel inside them and that’s the 3rd time I’ve had the front end off doing work to the car in the last few months and as I’m sure you all know its a bit of a pain in the ass.

Sorry if these questions seem dumb but I have no idea when it comes to lighting and I’ve searched for days on here and am still confused

I can help you with interior and license plate.

That interior kit seems too cheap and convenient to be decent quality, but at that price, shouldn't be so bad if it turns up short of your expectations. Most kits Ive seen are $60-$90 USD (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ziza-par.../b7ledkit~kit/) Alternatively, You can piece together your own bulbs on ebay or wherever as long as you know the correct sizes and quantity.

Use this for install (b6 and b7 are essentially the same) and theres no such thing as getting code errors for the interior lights so error free or not error free will not matter here). Its pretty easy, just be gentle. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...r-LED-Lighting

In terms of license plates, you need built in resistors otherwise you will get error messages on the dash. I have tried a few different CAN-Bus error free bulbs (festoon shape) from different vendors and all looked to be the same crap in different packages. I got errors either way, then decided to fashion my own with the correct size bulb with my own hardwired resistor covered in shrink heat wrap, it got too hot and started to melt the plastic. I followed the methods of another ziner here who did the ohm/voltage calculations but had no luck long term.

Im currently running the ones from ECS tuning that look identical to the ones you posted a link on, no idea if hardware is the same or if results are the same but those look like they're worth a shot. Mine are more expensive but they work great, they're bright and more importantly NO ERROR messages. Early on when they released the product, there was some discrepancy that the color of the display between your speedo and tach made a difference on whether or not you received error messages. I dont believe this is an issue anymore but either way I have non color DIS and have no errors, can only speak for myself on this.

Also keep in mind you have a b7 A4 but those images on the link show a b8/b8.5 A4, the seller's post seems a bit confused because it advertises for B6/B7 A4 but not B8 yet it shows a b8 in the picture gallery. Be wary.

One last tid bit, the license plate screws that come on the car are pretty easy to strip, I would consider replacing them with star/torx heads of identical size to help with install.
    Best of luck!
