Has anyone painted their valve covers?

I was wondering if anyone has had success painting their valve covers. I've powder coated some it the past, however those were magnesium. Obviously that wouldn't be an option here.

If anyone has any that they've done and would like to share I'd love to see what you've done.

Why is Powdercoat not an option for the 3.0t valve covers?

Material. Valve covers can't withstand the baking temperatures of powder coating.

The covers are aluminum no? The Powdercoat melts at 2-300C. Aluminum at over 650C. It would seem to be a non issue. Am I missing something?

Oh, that answers that. I thought they were aluminum. You learn something new everyday. Thanks.

I’ve definitely seen a user on here with the 3.0T valve covers painted black, but I don’t remember where or who.

Also, not sure what the motive is to go black as it just looks even more like plastic to me than the silver color they come as stock.
