    fuel issue 2.0 08

    so the gauge is working but it don't real to the f on the gauge so wondering if its the sending unit or the pump don't want to be buying nothing for no reason seeing if any one
    went threw this yet ? please lmk thanks guys

    Calibration perhaps? Poke around in VCDS if you have it.

    Sorry, others with more knowledge will need to chime in to help direct you. you will need something that can read the codes and make adjustments within the computer, which means you need a vag-com cable and software.

    Yeah i have this issue also. Only reached 3/4 on the gage when i fill up. I checked the sender and it looked fine. Also replaced the evap valve. Decided just to live with it.

    mine too but to about 45%. i think someone on here fixed it with replacing one of the sensors in the tank? under the back seat something? cant recall. my shop said it was a few hundred so i just live with it. also leaves the gas pump icon on top of the dis but oh well

    There are two sending units for the fuel gauge. One on the driver side, and one that is part of the fuel pump assembly on the passenger side.

    On my last a4 the gauge would read about 3/4 - 7/8 full after filling up. I first replaced the sending unit on the driver side. Didn’t fix the issue.

    Then removed the fuel pump on passenger side. Turned out when the previous owner replaced the fuel pump he didn’t pay attention and the float mechanism on the fuel pump was hanging up on one of the hoses inside the tank.

    So should I just check it to see if It was hung up before buying any thing ?

    Wouldn’t hurt. Might save yourself some money. Just be careful when removing the fuel lines so you don’t damage them.
