    Eventuri Cold Air Intake?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone have any experience? I'm prob going to install- My guess is it is ~$2K CAD. I'm skeptical about power increase but to be fair they don't make any outrageous claims. I love the subtle sound. Seems to compliment the overall signature of the 5cyl/exhaust. Plus the look is incredible. Would love to get others take, if any!
    Cheers, Mike

Phil from Detailers Domain has this on his car. I checked it out last time I was there--definitely sounds better and is gorgeous. Can't speak to the performance aspect. Get in touch with him--he can get you a good price as he is a distributor of them.

Update: the eventuri will set me back $2700 CAD. Struggling with that for an intake. Effing carbon fibre

Yah same feeling, few things im looking at is the huge difference in price comparing the 2. 2200$ CA difference is huge difference between the two and in the end how many more hp are claimed with opting for eventuri? Sound of the open box will be more prominent with the CTS, hopefully there's no weird noises like the K&N one for the B8 A4. The last thing im curious about on the Eventuri is how will the expansion piece that connects the cone to the front air damn will hold up after weather and time.

Yup i've also paid good coin on products in the past just trying to look at everything from all angles.....hell i went through 4 exhaust systems on my A4 before i was happy. Yah 2700 vs 490 CA.....5.5x more expensive.

Yeah but its an intake under your hood that you never rarely see. I'm sure the eventuri isn't doing 4x the power gains for 4x the cost lol. Intakes are about function at least for me. If you want to lower IATs get a carbon fiber intake manifold.

how's the quality to other carbon fiber intakes? like APR etc, from previous cars owned?

is the quality and build alone that of a $1,700 product?

I'd wait to see what uni brings out...im guessing the CTS and Uni systems will be similar and will be louder than Eventuri

That's my plan, but im hoping Uni releases their intake soon. Next batch from what i heard on the CTS will be the end of the month. I believe you will be correct on them being similar.

What's up with the comments in other thread "I hear it's not performing well", "not much better than stock in making power" - any real data to share?

Hopefully when all the tuners come out with their intakes, im sure there would be some type of comparison etc.

Maybe tune adjustments are needed to get the most out of it? Seems like Hank is happy with the performance gained from the IE intake.

It's just a very nice intake. It's not going to make huge power gains.

For a stock or mild set up it will be fine. It does not flow enough for highly modified set up. About the same air flow as a drop in K&N. If the filter was larger it would have been a great option.
I bought one and modified it so I know.
2011 R8 with APR tune etc...
2012 TTRS will all the goodies
2021 SQ8 with APR Tune - Holy Crap!
2022 RS6 with APR Tune and Intake - Even better!

Thanks for the insight - what kind of data did you get to make these conclusions (airflow measurements, dyno or track comparisons, etc?)

Flow bench testing. Its a great looking and performing intake for stock to mild cars.
I'm just letting those know who will eventually go with a highly modified car it will become a restriction. I'm still using the beautiful front portion for air flow direction.

Cool - did you at least observe better flow with the K&N drop-in vs the stock filter?

I was just thinking about your comment in the other thread. BMC also might be a good drop-in option.

Had one on my last S4 and IMO they are a better quality K&N-like filter from Europe - similar flow media but arguably better constructed, less molding encroaching on the media etc. (example comparison below). And more expensive of course.

    Thanks for the info!

But almost $50 more for a little bit better fit and finish and painted red and still an oiled filter. That k&n filter looks like a defect. Mines in the past have not looked that bad lol.

I might get an aFe filter as those are dry. If not a k&n.

might want to wait to see how many turbos are damaged before buying one of these intakes
