So I'm an older guy (but not too old!) who has had some nice cars in the past (E39 M5, E92 M3) but hasn't had a really nice one in some years. A year ago I bought an M235i thinking that would satisfy me, but although it is a great car and value for the $$, maybe the best that bmw makes on that score, my wife hated it and I never warmed to it...must be age. So my son has always loved the RS7 so I started looking into them...and lo and behold a couple months later a really nice one popped up for sale locally. Long story short, I drove it home today. While I think it was a reasonable deal considering how expensive these cars are, it is still the most I've spent on a car in my life. So my fantastic wife also deserves credit for not standing in my way, although she's not a car person.
The car is a pretty well equipped 2015. I know the thread is useless without pics, but I won't have any up until tomorrow after I give her (him, not sure of the sex yet) a bath. I drove it about 100 miles home today, and I think we are really going to like what may be my last ICE car....Extremely comfortable (comfort seats), smooth as heck on the road, great safety and tech features, but a bit of a beast when you get on it. I have a warranty for another 4 years so I don't have to worry about much other than tires and brakes...Speaking of which, the car has aftermarket 21's on it...but I think the only 'mod' I may do is to downgrade to 20 inch wheels so I can put all season performance tires on it. The car will find it's way into the mountains often, and while I would never consider this a snow car, I'd like to be able to be up there and not have to worry about a small amount of winter weather with 21 inch summer tires.
Anyway, any tricks/suggestions would be appreciated. I have a lot of reading to do to familiarize myself with all the features the car has.
So far I'd say it's pretty spectacular. I'm lucky to be able to own it, even used.
Pics to be added tomorrow.
