    Launch Control Limit?

I was under the impression that the RS3 does not have a launch control limit but a recent post in the RS3 Facebook group has 15+ people all saying that there is a "proven" limit of 200. Does anybody know the truth? I tried a forum search but could only find speculation.

This is a verified limit of 200 on the Transmission. With a TCU tune (or maybe some other tunes) this can be lifted. But there is an actual limit hit by multiple people.

I don't understand why this isn't mentioned at all in the owner's manual.

oh Cmon!! please.. who started this non-sense of 200 launches? is that the word of mouth? where does it say that the car is limited to 200 launches? the manufacturer is saying that? Who? who is saying it? Cmon folks, lets stop the gossip/speculation/rumor, there is no such source.

I don't think even the manufacturer(Audi) would have done 200 launches either. Lets stop it here.

The RS3 has launch control. Those 15 + guys on Facebook that you are referring to have they launched their RS3 200 times to know for sure or is that something that they are pulling their as-s.

I wonder if holding te revs counts as a launch control or if it has to be launched.

No it doesn’t. You have to activate it for the count.

^^^ so how does the car alert you once you reach 200 launches? a cluster message display? or it just stops working?

Not according to the facebook thread. You bring it up to the limiter and it ticks the counter. I haven't verified myself.

I'd believe the process would count because it comes up on the display and realistically this is what is bad for it since it has to slip the clutch to hold the RPM but still be in gear.
