Decided to take my Iroz Big Turbo RS3 to the NeverLift ShiftSector half mile Racing event this past weekend to see how the car would fare. Had a blast, met some great people and hung out with old friends and fried some spark plugs lol

Great vids and so bummed I wasn’t able to make it out to this event. 168mph trap isn’t too shabby, but those shifts are definitely holding you back. Seems like the clutch isn’t holding the power. Do you have a TCU tune with the clamping force turned up? If so, time for some upgraded clutches.

    You are 100% right.

Culprit, weak plugs at the end of their life cycle.

Turns out after 10k hard miles of being beat on, 2 we’re fried and the other 3 were on their way out too. We should have known better and should have had spare replacements but lesson learned.

Sputtering is all gone and she is back to being healthy.

And yes TQ is still being limited since we are on stock block.

Thanks man and always next time brother.

And so far I haven’t had issues with the clutches however to be more competitive we may upgrade to SSP clutch packs this way we can push the car harder and chase more powerful cars

The plugs are attributed to what happens at ~4:24 in? That is definitely what my car does. Did you replace with OEM?

These cars are nuts! No launch & roasted plugs & you were still the 4th fastest speed at 168mph!!

You’ll definitely break 170mph with the plugs now sorted out & using launch. I didn’t realize that there was a limit on the amount of launch’s? How do you go about accessing launch again??
What was the beeping noise from inside the cabin on almost every pass??

The S4 with S-Tronic has a 200 launch limit but it’s been raised thru TCU tuning to >1000, depends on tuner. Probably Iroz can have it raised if they have a TCU tune. Till then perfect the up swing method.

My first comment to you is exactly what I commented a few weeks ago: I wholeheartedly think that your transition is slipping, probably your clutch packs are worn out or at least that is what it sounds like.

The sound coming from the engine as you are picking up speed sounds high pitch then it goes down and it goes up again and that happens only when your car shifts. I am not criticizing , I just giving my observations.

On a different note, I have such a hard time trying to understand why you haven't participated on drag strip events to scoop fastest RS3. With your set-up you should be fastest RS3 in the country(besides IROZ RS3). I know that you told me that you are not into the drag strip and that you like roll races but you have done countless dead stop hard launches.. that is not different than lining up on a drag strip. I mean , you don't own me a explanation, it is your car and I love your videos but I am seating at home watching all your videos and thinking: he could scoop the quickest RS3 time slips right now, as simple as that.

With a fresh set of clutch discs you should be able to go toe to toe with those Porsche turbos and GTRs.

I hear you, but we’ve been battling with the “your slipping” comments since we started posting racing videos.

And true on constant launching with 700whp the trans isn’t happy, however she’s holding and holding well. Car pulls like a freight train and arguably the fastest RS3 in California at the moment.

I may upgrade to SSP or a German based company for triple carbon clutches just to chase faster cars and be more consistent.

We’ll see what happens, all I know if you compare our trap times for the standing half mile the heavy 4 door sedan destroyed so many track prepped cars that were gutted and also making “more power” including some higher end exotics etc.

Either way it’s exciting pioneering this with Iroz so this way others can benefit.

In order to avoid the "its slipping" comments you can maybe have custom code limit torque through boost instead of the trans and have it shift like stock. And as rpm goes up ramp up the boost or boost by gear.

Starting to question if that is really what the issue is seeing the exact same thing in this video. Doubt he is rolling around with a bad hpfp :)

I heat ya, I don’t think I’m qualified to give them Tuning advice, however. Things are subject to change with this setup, everything is still being tested out and refined.

So far I’ve had a ton of filmed kills with this car, 168 mph in a standing half mile with failing plugs is not bad, excited to hit the half mile again and see what she can do.

I really am impressed with the 1/2 mile number no doubt! You should always be able to ask what is possible with tuning from your tuner. That way they can research and might possibly find new and interesting ways to do things within the tune.I do hope Hank does this and figures out more than try breakin things but also maybe trying different ways to deliver power. I think this is how people worked out flat foot ignition cut shifting/boost by gear/boost by speed on other platforms. The worst thing to happen would to take an APR approach and be like thats it for the tune were done developing thats what you get. Innovation will lead this platform to surpass so many. I look forward to your next runs! Lets break 200!

How often do you have the issue at 4:24? Have you talked with Hank about it? Any ideas what is causing it?

Another good thing about the footage and the trend of videos that Malaka is posting is the fact that the transmission hasn't gone KABOOM yet. That DQ500 seems to be strong.. that is excellent news. Lots of credits to Malakas for breaking the ice on this platform.
