I get that guys lol I’m just talking a direct swap. Would it even bolt up to the manifold like the stock turbo? He’s burning oil through the turbo. I’ll be the one replacing it, but I don’t want to get into some crazy fabrication. The garret turbo is 650$ if it’s not a direct bolt on I’ll just have him find a used stock turbo and call it a day.

Cars at about 220k. 06 S-line 6 speed manual. Clean car that drives great. I sold it to him about 40k miles ago

A little research shows everyone calling it a stage 3 turbo, capable of 450HP. It usually comes with a T3/T4 housing, so it is not a bolt on.

not a direct on. Only direct on would be a stock KO3. Even a KO4-0064 would need a supporting hardware mods. Such as bigger injectors and a tune

The manifold and turbo are not 2 pieces on our cars so no, you ain’t bolting that up to a stock manifold. 😀

You’ll probably need some custom fab to get that hooked up. And even if you buy a T3 manifold for a 2.0T who knows if the turbo will clear until you test fit it.

Thanks for the input everyone. I passed this information along and he’s going to stick with a stock k03. Maybe do a mild stage 1 tune afterwards. No reason to push this car to hard, it does have 220k and he wants to keep it reliable.
