    Bubble in tire - replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Saw I had a bubble in a tire (front pass). Went to the tire shop they said I could replace it because it was close enough to the tread on the new tires. The tread on the front drivers was about 7/32 to 8/32 while the new tire was 10/32.

I just got my tire swapped out. Should I go back and get the shop to order 3 more and replace them all?

I would of replaced the two at the front and keep the one good 7/32 as a spare, just in case. That way it wont pull to one side.

Then try to even them out over the next year by rotating, or not rotating, to wear out the new ones at a faster rate

I wouldn't throw away hundreds of dollars of tire life.

I'm going to take a wild guess here: Are you on Pirellis?

Tire Rack can shave tires down to match and they have a warehouse in CT.

You are perfectly fine, the only thing to watch for (off the top my head) is the average thread on front vs rear should be max 2mm. May differ slightly along models, if you want send me your VIN and I can check the details. Still if you don’t care it would be good to replace both on the same axle when you have to replace one.
