    Anyone actually replaced a PCV?

Oil consumption on one of my 3.0ts has accelerated and I am thinking about replacing the PCV. I know it's an involved process but what what I haven't been able to find is what other parts need to /should be replaced at the same time (seals, gaskets, etc). Trying to minimize downtime.

    Anyone tackled the job themselves?

I'm taking all next week off to replace the PCV/carbon clean intake valves/send injectors out to get ultrasonically cleaned and bench flow tested before and after. AFAIK it's as simple as removing the SC, intake flap motor thing and loosening some fuel lines.

I did the job myself, definitely took a few hours but it's not too difficult. The one thing I did as well is replaced the water pump and thermostat at the same time just because it was right there.

I only replaced the upper intake manifold gaskets as far as gaskets go the new PCV has one that comes with it.

thanks. Notice any difference with oil consumption?

also, did you use VCDS to release fuel pressure?

Yes definitely helped. And no I just slowly unscrewed one of the fuel lines till the pressure was released

You can unplug the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel, then crank the car over a half dozen turns(it wont start) to release pressure.
