P0420 code - CEL defeat

Is there a working fix to eliminated the CEL from P0140 code for the 2010 A5?
I don't have to worry about passing any emissions tests, just want the CEL and code gone.

a tune would clear it out

adding a o2 sensor spacer may help as well. i did this yesterday for my TTs. unsure if it worked yet as i coded it out, but havnt driven it yet

Car has MED17 ECU, they are tough to tune (it is even read protected, and would need to read in boot mode). And car has 200k miles, so I don't want to put a performance tune on it (normally would just install downpipe and put a nice tune on; THEN worth the effort).

I have some spacers/defaulers here (straight, and angle; not sure how much spacer there is around the downstream O2).

my 2011 is throwing the P0420 code since i put on a petty hfc & dp.....

...this 'spacer' remedy is new to me.... preez splane.....

you are just positioning the the o2 sensor away from the center-line of the pipe?

It pulls the sensor out of the exhaust stream where changes happen more slowly and the changes are somewhat averaged.
