    Lowering the A7 this Am......

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Sooooo after a long time coming I finally ordered the coils and awe exhaust and the car is getting its coils as we speak. This is a 2016 A7. I will post some before pics and will post some after pics later on today or tonight! Went with the ST-X coils so I will set them and forget them and the added savings I will put towards the awe.....

Looking good! What size wheels and tires are you running and what offset are they? I'm still debating on what the best way to go is without running into rubbing issues, though the parking garage I have to use might keep me from going lower

Actually it feels the same but better. If that makes sense. Feels more grounded less floaty but not harsh at all. I was expecting a big difference with driving but I love it.

Put your car on jack stand, remove wheels and use the wrench that comes with it to adjust height.
It’s pain in the @ss to do it.

Isn’t there a little screw I must unlock as well? Then I will have to measure the threads right? So I know how many times to turn it? The guy at the shop just used his hands to turn it. Looked fairly easy to turn maybe bc they are new.

I think it depends on the manufacturer if there is a not to loosen but the could should have come with a tool to turn it.

No really....raise it now. Its going to settle and you'll be burning paint off your fenders. Maybe ask the shop that installed them to bring it up, but in a week or two that thing is going to come down.

They are too far away to swing by. I’m going to try it myself at least on the front.

Do you know how much it will settle? I’m going to try and bring it up to the higher side of the tire. Then let it settle. Maybe do it Thursday afternoon.

Think the back is good? Bc. Don’t want to tackle that one... I don’t mind the back. I like it.

You'll be tucking tire for sure, and if you have anybody in the back it'll probably rub on the carpet liner. If you get different wheels or spacers to make them flush you're gonna rub the paint. Why not ask the shop to bring it up?

There about 45 mins away and I can’t take off work and they are not ope on weekend. Fronts def need a little back I’m not worried no one is in the back except my 5 and 3 year old so that should be ok.

I am not so sure about rubbing, that doesn't seem to be lowered than mine.
But really depends on wheel/tire setup.
Are you running 21x9, 9.5, 10 or 10.5? I see that offset is 32, how much clearance you have from your fender inward toward the tires?

21x10.5. I’m not running now but now I’m concerned when they settle maybe I will??? I don’t know. Seem to be fine. Wish they were a tad higher but I just went out to the lot and it looks good. :)

Have you considered bolting the AWE up without the downpipes first to see how it sounds? I suppose if its acceptable, it will save you some cash.
