One of those cars. On one end, you have 20k, 125k mile beat-up examples...on the other end, this car.

Guys, let's not fall all over ourselves here. This isn't a well known member and there are three photos, which are basically the same angle.

Would love to see it on BAT with a reasonable reserve.

True - but the basic info provided points in the right direction for a higher-than-average sale price...especially since it's cat-back and no other mods. Lack of pictures might prevent a sale on ebay but it doesn't stop someone who is seriously interested form picking up the phone and calling the guy....which he seems to be making a point of saying not to waste his time...which I appreciate. I've always believed that if someone is seriously looking for a car, they aren't going to pontificate on the internet about the lack of pictures, descriptions or any of that - they will pick up the phone and call.

Indeed. A car like this sells itself.

I'd be leary of BaT... not all they're cracked up to be. Buyer and seller both need to be careful or well-versed in vehicle transactions. Plus a 5% markup for buyer on say, a $50K sale through BaT is $2500 plus they still have to pay sales and property tax, registration, etc. Just food for thought.

IMHO, it would be better sold through enthusiast channels, such as this forum.

Definitely and I PM'ed him immediately and we've exchanged emails. I'm very interested at $40k. At $45k it better be perfect and he better do a good job selling how perfect it is.

Is that what he's asking? 45k?

As a potential buyer for this car, I'd actually prefer BaT. Gives me many more eyes on the car to help vet any issues. Is 5% worth that? For me, it is. It's also validation that I am paying market rate for the car. Once the auction is done and won, it's the same transaction process you'd have if you bought it through this website. So not sure how you need to be more well-versed.

Keep on em - definitely sounds like the car you're looking for. I always wonder with cars like this, if it's the original owner or someone going for a quick flip or consignment. Especially when they are holding out for that extra few thousand...which would make sense if they are trying to profit on a flip. Very common for a newish user to show up on an enthusiast forum selling someone elses car. Whenever I've listed a car, half the people who call want to be my "agent" - I hang up on those.

He's had the car less than six months. So my guess, is yes, he's looking to make some money. Says he bought it from a collector. My guess is he's trying to make a quick $10k and I'm not salty with him making money on it. Doesn't mean I'll overpay though.

Still waiting to hear if he is negotiable or firm on the asking. If so, I told him I needed more photos and him willing to take it to a local Boulder shop for a PPI.

My Dad is in KC and can pick it up with a car hauler once we have a deal and deliver it to me when he comes up to visit in June.

You got to pay to play bud, properly represented this car could bring a record sale. But 3 pictures of the same angle on BAT will get you laughed at. So of course you got to come correct. I feel like 90% of the traffic on a "enthusiast forum" such as this would have a hard time getting a 15 thousand dollar line of credit much less buy and sell collector cars. Bigger pond more fish

    My Fellow Audi Enthusiast friends,

Thank you all for taking time to check out this beautiful car. It will be a sad day when I sell it. I had no intention of selling it so soon, but life circumstances and priorities change.

I am not an agent or a flipper. I am a fellow Audi enthusiast. I've enjoyed the pleasure of a 2007 A4 2.0T, 2008 Audi S4, 2016 SQ5, 2007 Audi S4, and now this 2008 Audi RS4. Each car has been wonderful and amazing. This is by far the best one so far.

The car is exactly as presented with full service history available.

Asking price $45,000. Buyers with serious potential interest have reached out and I encourage anyone else who falls into that category to do so. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. I personally would greatly appreciate that over speculating via the forum.

I am waiting to have the car fully detailed before I add more pictures. I will add them to this thread when I take them.

Thank you everyone for being a supportive community with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Also, just as a quick anecdote, s4amg comes from awhile back when I put an AMG license plate frame on my S4. Someone came up beside me and asked me about it being an MB AMG cars. I always thought that was hilarious. Gotta have a little fun ;) Thanks again everyone!

Car looks great! Mileage is insane. Shame it hasn’t been enjoyed more. 10 year old car it’s going to need a lot more than annual maintenance. IMO worth it if you’re willing to spend the cash plus a little more. GLWS. I’d buy it for a daily if I could. Cheers.

Looks like he traded it or is cosigning it to this dealer: https://www.greeneyedmotors.com/inve...quattro/113362

If he traded it, can't imagine he got more than the $40k I offered. Also showing 6 owners now, not the 4 he claimed... hmmm.

In my experience, there's often a bad reason to have such low miles for the age and # of owners (gremlins). I'm really curious as to why the car in CO, then randomly registered in NJ, yet serviced back in CO 3 days later.

Here's a fixed link where it shows as sold, with a sales price of $45K. That means they probably gave OP around $38K, but that dollar amount is removed from the vehicle they traded in for before tax is applied.
