    3.0t differences

    So, I’m in need of some advice. I have 2010 s4 with no compression. In looking for a replacement motor I have seen some listed as compatible and some as in compatible. My understanding is that (B8) 10-12 s4/s5 Motors are the same. (B8.5)13+ s4 are different. Does anyone know the difference? Also, would it be possible to use a 3.0t longblock from an A6 or Q5? Any in-site would be extremely helpful!

    Can't say I can help, other than to confirm I have heard the same....09-11 are the same, 12+ are different.

    So that being true, would a 2011 A6 3.0t be the same? I’ve tried to find part #’s but haven’t had any luck

    I can say that externally, both my 3.0T in my A6 and S4 look the same. replacing PCV on the A6 right now, and is the same as the PCV on the S4.

    I have no idea what the differences would be, but the 2016 A6's 3.0T is the engine, as it has a better supercharger setup. I know you can't just drop the 16+ SC on S4, but if you could swap the whole engine- that would be pretty sweet.
