    Taillights moisture

Hello everyone. It’s been a while. I was wondering if anyone else in the forums has this issue. These tail lights are only 2 years old. They seem to have moisture in them. I have had a tail light bulb error once when the temperature changed. I know it can cause corrosion and ultimately tail light failure. How Can I address this issue. Any help from you guys would be immensely appreciated.

Had same case with mines in Avant but I know I had to do with it.
Bulb carrier has a rubber seal around it which get bend when fitting it back to the lamp and allowed moisture in.
Remove the lamp and check that seal on the bulb carrier. Try to make it as straight as possible and refit.
Prior to the above, allow the lamp to dry out

Thanks kriskrk. I have no idea on properly fitting it. Is there a good instructional manual. I will take these lights out and let them dry and see what your taking about. I am capable of taking them out using the non marring tool. I had a difficult time with the black piece being aligned properly. I think a few tabs broke too. Is that what your referring too.. I would love to fix this without buying new tail lights lol. I’m not a mechanic either but I am about to become one since I like Audi but it’s just too expensive to maintain if you don’t do it yourself.

Not sure how to remove them from saloon car but it should be similar as avant.
Remove securing nut from inside cavity boot compartments and pry lamps with plastic trim tool (anything that is flat and strong enough, as a plastic). Wedge the pry tool in the gaps between the lamp and the body panel from the marked edges

And pull the lamps out, towards the back.

Bulb carriers are usually held on tabs, yes.
If you broke some, that would be why moisture is getting inside the lamps, as no pressure is applied on the rubber gasket to seal it all off.

You can get the bulb carriers with seals as second hand off any car salvage yard or eBay.

Thank you very much for taking some time out and showing me. I’ll remove these taillights and take a look. Would you happen to know the part number for the rubber gasket. I am aware how to take the lights out I just don’t know how to put the black covers on the plastic tabs without breaking it. That is the hardest part for me. I’ll still give it a go it’s better worth a try :) thanks again.

What do you mean drilling holes? I thought a gasket would solve our problem I am letting a shop address this issue if they are willing to since the car is going on for some coolant leak repair..
