    O2 sensor location

Tried to google and couldnt find. Long story short since my hfc install i been getting a check engine light. Had the dealership scan and they said the cat is no good on the downpipe. He recommended i get a o2 spacer and hopefully it would work.

I ordered it and it comes today but i forgot to ask where it is and if its something i can DIY ( seems simple )

Anyone know where the o2 location is? Google showed me nothing

    Thanks!

    O2 sensor location

O2 sensors should be on the Downpipe or secondary pipe after downpipe, chase the wire that’s on the pipe to the sensor

I couldn’t find a pic of the milltek tts dp, so here is a typical dp just for reference. It’ll be the sensor after the “cat”, not the primary sensor.

Got it done. I wish i saw this thread first though. I spent like 4 hours getting my hands cut up reaching in, turns out it was the wrong sensor LOL

Got the actual one in 10 mins. Hopefully it works

    Thanks all!

Cool. Sometimes getting the right spacer becomes an art to keep it between too much flow where the computer triggers an ineffective/missing cat trouble code vs too little flow where the computer triggers an inactive code.

Picking up too much of the exhaust flow...try unscrewing it some. Keep testing each time until it either stops throwing a code or you get an inactivity code (in which case you went too far). I hate dealing with hfc post cat issues. Easiest way is to just have it coded off with a tune. If you are in a strict smog state like me (CA), that option will fail your smog check.

hmmm. I actually ordered a spacer with a mini cat built in to give it a try. maybe I should of tried your method first.

we don't have a smog check just need to make sure theres no check engine light. if all else fails I just gotta code the error out and pray it doesn't come back during inspection lol

If you don’t have a physical inspection, but they plug into the obdii, of it’s coded out, I would think that would fail for the secondary sensor showing annunready state. If you can figure out the sweet spot for the spacer, then you don’t need to code it out and you’re golden.

My state has a visual inspection, so the spacer is a fail is spotted. I’m better off running a S1 that doesn’t code out the sensor with oem downpipe to avoid smog test issues....but the aftermarket dp’s make the exhaust sound so good.

I think ourlee was referencing the JB1 fellow?

yup no physical inspection, just plug in. really hope my new spacer with mini cat will work. this is becoming a headache.

on my a5, I had the spacer plus a tune to code it out, had to switch to stock mode in order to pass.

I don't think this has anything to do with the jb1 though

and yea the exhaust sounds soooo gooood. I just came back from Quattro de mayo, and u wouldn't believe how much compliments I got for my car's sound. iw as blasting away in the mountains. people can hear me vibrating through the turns. heck even a guy with a rs5 w/ a capristo exhaust said he heard nothing but my car lol
