I had a white Jeep SRT for a year or so, and had to dig out all of my fancy detailing equipment for owning a black car again. That's the color I usually have.

I still have to look at it every time I walk away....

Detailing fun. Drop filling rock chips. I've practiced on my guitars.

Nothing better than a shiny black car. Good job on the rock chip filling.

Post in Detailing section of the forum on the method.

I ordered custom specific matched paint from Amazon in Phantom Black Metallic. Its not perfect buts its very good, with a lot of metallic flake in it. In this particular case I just used the paint, I didn't not top with clear coat. Depending on the size and the depth, I will try to half fill with paint, then top with a drop of clear, then sand, buff. Its a drop fill technique.

For smaller ones I've only been clear coating. For larger I've been clear coating mine after half filling with paint. I don't trust just paint.

Had to pull out all of my detailing stuff for black as well.
