Question on Chipwerke S piggyback chip?!?!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What's up, a quick question.. you may know or not it's cool either way. But I got a 2013 6MT S4 and I'm use the Chipwerke S which I was told was the best one to use with the 6MT. I run it to the F setting and with 93 octane (working like a dream) but I want update my pulley. Would my CW S compute to Stage 2 once I update the pulley or do I have to send it back or get a new one?

I do have roc euro intake and awe tuning touring exhaust system installed

Drive it like you stole it 😎

First off, the Pro is the updated version of the S model. Metal chassis, better processor, etc. You can find multiple threads on the CW units and how they compare to ECU tunes if you're wondering.

Unless otherwise requested, I believe that they all shipped with stage 1. If you want to add a pulley, you need to ship it back to CW for a reprogramming, though I believe some people might have just run a higher ratio. Hopefully their info will come in as well.
    2014 S4 - APR Stage 2 - APR CPS - AWE Touring w/ Resonated Downpipes - APR Carbonio Stage 2 Intake - Alu Kreuz - H&R Front and Rear Sways - 034 Inserts - Focal KX165 + Audison Bit4.9 + Audison 4D - Xpel Front End Wrap - Modesta BC-04 Paint Coating - Rayno S9 Tint - R8 Oil Cap - Porsche 911 Coolant Cap - CR15 Strut Tower Brace - Q5 Brembo Brakes - Goodridge Stainless Brake Lines - P3 Gauge (w/ Track Pack)

I read up on the different threads about the new version and what changed.. if you have a stic (6MT), It is recommended to stick with the S version versus getting the pro version. The function only changes if you have to other Type of S4 which they're trying to fix with the knocking issue. For the manual S4 the only thing that would change would be a different look in the hardware...

Not sure where you garnered that info, but it is inaccurate.

From Murat himself, explaining the differences:

What's up, I decide to call Chipwerke and find out what do to. I was told that I wouldn't need to do anything different. If I want I can send in my CWS and they can remap if I want a clear of mind. I ask the salesman if I should be the pro, and he told me that the S works great with a 6MT. He could have made a sell but he advise me that I had a great product already

I wouldn't tell an existing customer that their product was inferior either. It would cause too much risk for them going to a full tune vs buying the newer model. If you're happy then enjoy it, you don't need our affirmation.

I'm here to learn and Not trying to be rude. You're the only one telling me something different from people inboxing me and telling me 1 thing. It matches to what the company is telling me the same thing they're telling me. Explain what risk I'm going to have if i don't do it your way. That's why I'm asking questions,to see the pros and cons. just haven't heard or found any one having issue, I don't know if you have a stick or not but it does make a difference.

Ps I still have a warranty and don't want to lose it as well

I’m confused. I believe that there may be a bit of a language barrier. Multiple people in this thread have said that the S was different from a hardware perspective. You said that you were satisfied because of some posts and a phone call to sales. I said that I was stoked that you were happy. In short, enjoy your Chipwerke S and your S4, there are no pros or cons.

By the way, I had a
$4000 warranty job done after having my apr dealer flash my APR car to stock.

Yea I think you miss read what I was asking about.. it was just talking about the 2 kind of chipwerke (S vs Pro).. on setting it up with an update pulley system. You can set the chip to stage 2. I have the chipwerke S and was just wondering if I have to send it back to make it stage 2 or get the pro with stage 2. That's all I was looking for.

I know the different from the piggyback vs a tune.. I had done my homework on that.

They reply nearly instantly on their live chat feature on their website. I think you're best going right to the manufacturer with your questions.
