The trans is so smooth now it's crazy how much of a difference it made.
Heres my question. Are there any other inserts or other mods that are similar for this car? 034 motorsports make some other inserts and wondering if the difference on those are as significant as the trans insert? I see rear subframe and differential inserts.
The differential inserts definitely add some NVH. There is a mid frequency whirring that you get at about 40 - 45 mph that stays present up to highway speeds. You also get a slight vibration (for lack of a better word) through the steering wheel at around 3K RPM that increases with revs. I hesitate to say "vibration" because it's not a shake like you think of with the word vibration. It's more like the vibration from a massager, though much more subtle. It caught me off guard at first, but I quickly grew to like it. I felt like it added some rawness to the car, more so than what I would consider true NVH. I had been told that was actually a result of the trans mount insert, but I recently removed the differential inserts, and it went away. Speaking of going away, when I added all the inserts I found that the exhaust farts were much more pronounced and frequent, and I assumed that was also from the trans insert, but removing the diff inserts made the exhausts farts less prevalent as well. I'm on the fence about putting the diff inserts back in. They were providing more benefit than I realized, but unlike the trans insert, there is definitely a trade off.
