Installed 034 motorsports trans insert yesterday

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ive had my sq5 about 6 weeks now and have done several mods already. My trans insert showed up and had it installed 20 minutes later. Probably the easiest thing I have ever installed. Why isnt this stock for these cars? It cleaned up the clunkiness of the transmission and there are no negative side effects at all. No extra vibrations or roughness. The trans is so smooth now it's crazy how much of a difference it made.

Heres my question. Are there any other inserts or other mods that are similar for this car? 034 motorsports make some other inserts and wondering if the difference on those are as significant as the trans insert? I see rear subframe and differential inserts.

Thank you. Have been considering this but thought it would increase NVH. Glad to hear that insert does not. Placing order.

The differential inserts definitely add some NVH. There is a mid frequency whirring that you get at about 40 - 45 mph that stays present up to highway speeds. You also get a slight vibration (for lack of a better word) through the steering wheel at around 3K RPM that increases with revs. I hesitate to say "vibration" because it's not a shake like you think of with the word vibration. It's more like the vibration from a massager, though much more subtle. It caught me off guard at first, but I quickly grew to like it. I felt like it added some rawness to the car, more so than what I would consider true NVH. I had been told that was actually a result of the trans mount insert, but I recently removed the differential inserts, and it went away. Speaking of going away, when I added all the inserts I found that the exhaust farts were much more pronounced and frequent, and I assumed that was also from the trans insert, but removing the diff inserts made the exhausts farts less prevalent as well. I'm on the fence about putting the diff inserts back in. They were providing more benefit than I realized, but unlike the trans insert, there is definitely a trade off.

Matt pretty much nailed it 👆🏼

I have all 034MS mounts, and I enjoy what "NVH" comes into the cabin. As Matt said, it's not harsh or too much. It's actually kind cool. Audi's come soft, so whatever I can do to firm them up works for me :)

I've run the 034 trans insert the past year (no other mounts) and it's fine, no drawbacks.

Thanks for that. Looks like I will stick with the trans mount for now and pass on the rest. If anyone is on the fence about the trans insert just order it. Absolutely no negatives and it's a night and day difference. The car is so smooth.

I also did the intake tube and like it. Cant tell if it makes more power but intake noises increased a good amount. Supercharger whine is there but it's subtle, and I cant hear it at wot. Just partial throttle. At wot in dynamic the intake sounds like a beast. It's just more engine noise but supercharger noise isn't really there. Install was 10-15 minutes.

For those placing orders for 034 stuff, don't forget the RSB and end links if you don't have them already. They are basically mandatory.

I've done it all: Trans, diff, xbrace, rear sway bar and links, euro factory suspension, Intake, GIAC stage I, RS grille, full LED's. dyno at 345 on winter 93 octane. 55k miles. Trouble free. Looking at Macan GTS but this Q will be hard to replace bang for the buck.

Whats the benefit of the endlinks? I've only changed those on cars when they went bad or installed a new sway bar.

Looks like you answered your own question.
You don't have to replace them, but the stocks are soft rubber and will quickly wear out with the stiffer RSB. Plus, the spherical bearing links are quicker to respond to pitch. That's why I did the fronts too. I love the way it handles.
