    CEL Codes. Help!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello Everyone,

I am an owner of a 2012 Audi A5 2.0T Quattro which I've purchased 8K miles ago currently sitting at 60K miles. Yesterday on my way home from work, CEL decided to appear on the dash with the warning "Shut Off Engine! Oil Pressure Too Low". I plugged in my Carista and the codes are as follows:

P0507 - Idle Air Control System RPM Higher than Expected
P2279 - Intake Air System Leak
P2187 - System Too Lean at Idle bank 1

I then proceeded to reset the codes then fire up my car and the car was juddering. Shortly after, another code appeared on top of the previously mentioned codes..

    P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected(Cylinders 1 and 2)

Can you guys kindly advise on where or how should I even begin to address these issues as I am not too familiar with these German vehicles.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

well first take a look at your intake and make sure there us no loose connections and/or holes in all the intake piping.

two make sure all the sensors are making good tight connections.

3 if you havent had the carbon cleaned in a while it is prob a good time to do it.

4 double check your oil level. using a dip stick. on the screen you got a low oil level warning but no codes for it. be sure it is at the proper level before you really mess up your motor.

    Hello All,

Upon doing some research, I think I have narrowed it down to a possible PCV failure. Could you guys kindly suggest on where I can obtain this part for a 2012 Audi A5 2.0T? This is the pre-face lift model, I believe the EU model received a face lift for the 2012 model year. Also, I was able to find tutorials on replacing the PCV for the Audi A4s but couldn't locate any for our A5s.. Would the process be the same for our A5s?

    Thank you All

    Hi Ape Factory,

I've just placed an order for the PCV Valve. Probably should of checked if there is a tear on my current one first lol but it's pouring outside so I figured that I will just replace this part and see how it goes from there.

    Thank you!

Vacuum leaks can be troublesome and hard to track down but I can't fault you for ordering a new valve. Germans are always complicated. Anyways, in terms of parts, I always start with the local dealer's price and go from there. I've been surprised and found that more often than naught, the Audi dealer is the same price.

Sorry I meant to write that I placed an order for the PCV diaphragm rather than the entire unit. I just went outside to diagnose the vacuum leak and it appears that when I place my finger on the northern-most part of the diaphragm, it sucks my finger towards it. Also with a faint hissing sound coming from that portion as well as the engine idling regularly when I cover the leak. Hopefully the diaphragm replacement will fix the issue. I will keep you guys posted!

Edit: Video below shows the same symptom as my vehicle:

    Thanks again!
