    Need help in identifying this part on my intake manifold

    Driving today my b8 started to shake while stopped at a light. Opened the hood and heard what sounded like a vacuum leak from the top rear of the motor, on the end of the intake manifold.
    Found this part popped out of the intake. Popped it back in and it stopped shaking.

    What is this part, why does this happen, can I replace it?

    It is the vacuum actuator that controls the runner flaps. Seems to be a pretty common failure mode on these manifolds. Watch these videos for more info:
