Well to those who feel they missed out on this deal, let me ease your pain a bit - I received them today and to my chagrin the thin strip between the two thicker gloss black strips is actually chrome. I didn’t notice it when looking at the photos before buying. Oh well- I’ll mask everything off and spray it with matte black plastidip and it should look close enough, but it’s not plug and play. I didn’t even know the gloss black-chrome-gloss black color scheme existed for these covers. Oh well...still a decent deal at the price paid. But they aren’t legit OEM Black Optic so don’t feel too bad!

It looks like they could be removed but it’s a lot of fragile looking tabs holding it in....I’m thinking that masking and painting/Plastidipping would be easier. Another weird thing is that the backs of these covers have VAG part numbers molded into them as well as a “4 rings” emblem, but the emblem is sort of smeared/burned over on both of them. I’m not even sure these are legit OEM pieces at this point, despite the seller telling me that they are.

Agreed, but before I sent payment I sent the seller a PM stating "I am interested in those foglight covers. They are OEM Black Optic, correct?", to which he replied "Yes thats correct !!"
But in hindsight, reviewing the posted photos more closely on a computer, I see silver strip running between the two larger gloss black strips, and a quick eBay search shows the same pieces available from multiple sellers in China.

Oh well. Caveat emptor.

It's possible they are legit OEM. There's a lot of OEM quality stuff on Aliexpress with the Audi marks melted off. I can't imagine they could remold those items that well, but I've been wrong before.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. It has the four rings emblem and what appear to be VAG part numbers (e.g. 8K0 ### ### ###), but it also has some rough edges and mold flashing remaining at some edges which is common on replica ABS parts, not so much on OEM VAG parts. At any rate, I brought all of this to the seller's attention and frankly I'm not expecting a reply, let alone a positive one, and probably I will end up test fitting these and, if they fit, painting the chrome strip black and installing them.
