    hello all, i am.........

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
a new owner of a 2014 RS7 with 27k miles and an APR tune. just a few questions, got the car today and of course it is raining and nasty so i didn't drive it spirited at all. i come from porsche and i love there pdk tranny with sport and sport plus. my question about the rs7 is this, driving today in D is just boring IMO. driving in S is better it is no where near as aggressive as the pdk in sport plus, its much closer to the pdk sport setting. the sport plus shift near redline like at 6k or something, does anyone know where the rs7 S setting shifts at?

i haven't launched the car yet do to the weather, barely drove it aggressively as well. when in dynamic mode and s mode does it shift at red line or does it shift like it does when driving normally.

i know with the pdk in sport plus it shifts up and down very aggressively, i didn't get that sensation today in the rs7 but than again i didn't drive it spiritly either, thoughts?

thanks for your thoughts/opinions and if you have any tricks i should know about please let me know

Congrats on your purchase! But prepare for major transmission disappointment if you’re coming from a PDK to the ZF.

    I believe RS7 redline is 6.5k

Redline varies between models, see here:

    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...line+variation

The beauty of the ZF in the RS7 is that it can hold the massive torque this 4500lb AWD sedan creates when tuned running 104 octane race fuel and propel the car to low 10 second 1/4 mile times, over and over again with little to no fear of tranny issues. TCU tunes are in development that will allow adjustments to shifting characteristics and redline, but they really need to be in harmony with the ECU tuning or things don't always work right.
2016 Nardo RS7, HRE P107 21x10.5, MPSS, JL Audio sub/amp, VCDS mods, Eurocode sway bars and end links, CF/Alcantra SW, Carbon paddles, tinted windows, VIM enabled, CarPlay enabled, hardwired Escort Max 360, CETE susp module, SRM ECU/TCU tune for E85, DS1, fully built SRM monster on the way!

i understand the engine redlines at 6500 or so, I'm asking if the car holds on till 6k or so before shifting when i am driving in S mode and dynamic, it didn't feel like it was revving anywhere near that high

Depends on how far on the gas you are, but if mashed, then yes it will shift past 6k. If you engage AMAX shifts are hardly noticeable. I would watch some of the videos cobrario or others have posted. You will see their tach and how it behaves.

yep and yep- PDK is the cheetah, stupid fast and agile whereas the ZF is a rhino, surprisingly quick but built more for running through walls
