AMD Owner Car

Im buying a 2001 Casablanca white car with supposedly 770s car, build was done about 7 years ago. The current owner claims that the car was purchased from the owner of AMD, Does any one know if this is true by any chance or have any insight as to if this may be true? Thanks

That's a really good price for a TiAL 770 car if with a built motor. I wouldn't sell it for that cheap.

I surely wouldn't buy it sight unseen. The wording in the add leaves a lot of room for deny ability IMO. If it is in fact what you've mentioned the seller hasn't done themselves any favors listing it the way they have.

Just a thought, the picture looks like the "S4 on the side of the road dead" photo lol.

i wonder if i were to call AMD tomorrow and ask if they could do a PPI without me being over there, might have to look into that and maybe even call them tomorrow.

They can do that and you just need to pay for it with a credit card. I have purchased multiple cars out of state and would always get a PPI done. Same goes for the owners who purchased by car and had PPI done.

really thats actually so good to know, but the owner would most likely have to drive the car to the shop correct? Or would they come out and just look at it as is

Yup. Owner would need to be willing to drive the car OR willing to have it towed to the shop.

Cash deposit usually encourages sellers to get it done.

A guy did a pp inspection on my car and it was around 150$ at a european shop they checked basically everything.

I did one for my car and they were really thorough. Found a coolant leak that they really had to look for. Diagnosed it and what not for 200

Yeah I wouldn't buy that without a reputable shop doing a thorough inspection on it. Just not good vibes at all from his ad. He's had it on Craigslist off and on for over a year.

Agree to be careful with this one. The ad is extremely vague and sends a message that the owner is either toying with the idea of selling and unsure if he really wants to, or is hiding something, or simply doesn't know what he has. If you know these cars, you list details in your ad that will attract enthusiasts. Tial 770's and no mention of them in the ad?? Totally possible that this guy just doesn't know these cars well and bought something complete and hasn't done much to it, but these cars tend to require some inside knowledge to properly own/maintain. Also, $10k in title, but $14k OBO in description. Big difference!

There should be a spec sheet/documents if the car is well sorted.
ESPECIALLY if this is a shop built car.

Yeah lol I mean he sent me all the receipts and everything but all the work has been done from 2008 to 2011, I'm going to have to drive this thing like 2000 miles hopefully owner responds before tomorrow so I can arrange something with AMD. As of now I have no response from him lol

i still have a plane ticket booked, im going to fly out and look at the car at least, im going to try to look out for things quite thoroughly. i was going into this with a intention to get the car regardless, now im reconsidering it all and im having second thoughts. i honestly dont know what to do

TiAL inlets and top hoses..
From the top you should see the tial WG actuators, actuator brackets are aluminum, look for divorced downpipes
Should be pretty easy


Did he send pics of engine bay? Anyone in here could prob tell you if it is a tial car

I test drove another B5 S4 (K04 car) where the owner thought everything was stock besides an exhaust even though it had K04s, APR bi-pipe, DVs etc.

So I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the guy who's selling this car doesn't really know what the car has. We on the forums are a tiny sliver of the broader car population and far more informed, only thing you can do is look the car over and have a PPI done.
