    Anyone have this connector

Hello, I had bought this connector VAG-COM VCDS 2018 - OBD2 Diagnostic Cable & Software (for VAG Cars: VW, AUDI, SEAT, SKODA) from Total Car Diagnostics.

It had good reviews about working on the A4 B6 Cab. Has anyone used this connector? Has it worked to diagnose and reset codes? I’ve used my other code reader for our Toyota, which has worked great. But I am having issues getting this one to connect to the A4. I triple checked instructions, tried downloading everything again. Nothing is working. I emailed Total Car, but I haven’t heard back yet.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated. As always, thx a bunch.

Never used that one. Most people are going with OBD11 or Carista, nowadays.

Depending where in MD you are, there may be some people local that have full-fledged VCDS, like myself.

Just read the description on the website, and despite what they have listed, you just bought an expensive & unlicensed product that's no better than the cheap versions from China really. If you want to ensure it works, get it from Ross Tech or one of their authorized retailers. If you don't care, spend $10 for a generic cable and use the free VCDS software or a generic OBDII program.

Not sure about the full capability of the obd11 but would it be fine for basic diagnosis of the various modules in the car?
I have a cheap obd reader right now that can get basic engine codes but cant really help my find the solution to problems like the abs module, and A/C not working.
For an individual who's doing basic troubleshooting the ease of use of the obd11 seems better than the utility of the vcds knockoffs

The $25 hex-can clone cables work fine, looks like this site is just selling them at profit, which is kinda garbage but...

(it is different than the $8 KKL/409 cables, in that it has CAN and K line [and works as HW dongle for VCDS]). Not that CAN is used for this car anyway.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I’ve made contact with the distributor. I’ll report back with the outcome.
