question on the waste gate B5 S4

HI got a code for over boost. So I did a vacuum test for the waste gate lines they didn't hold any vacuum at all. but when I blow a short burst of air in the lines with the air compressor the rods on both turbo would move into the open position like they supposed to. if there was leak would the waste rods move into the open positions? or is There another reason why they are not holding vacuum? thanks in advance.

Also notice a hissing sound for the passenger side DV line there is no cracks in the line its fine. I haven't regrease them in about two years they are baileys DV. that also could be my problem for the overboost, I cleaned and regrease them yesterday so I am going to put them back in the car and see if that takes care of the problem.

Your Wastegates shouldn’t read any vacuum. They are wastegates so air blows through the hose connected the the N75 and the WG

Adding air pressure they should open. They are according to your description that is normal.

As far as Overboosting I’ll let another member take a swing at a description as to why or how this happens.

If your hearing a hiss it could be your Throttle Body Boot... which is next to the DV, check that.

Did you do a leak test at all?

What would be helpful is if you can describe your setup and what type of turbos you have.

yeah thats what I thought about the waste gate makes sense that they would open with air blowing through them. I did a leak test everything check out ok so far, clean the and regrease the DV. However after do some more diagnostic on the N75 and the electrical connector I found that there is an open connection in the wiring when I move it around so I repaired the wiring and put everything back together and took for a test drive it boosted like it should and drives like a champ. got back home and did a scan with the VCS and no fault codes👍🏾
