    Newbie S3 question

Hello I just bought my 2015 S3 the other day and I have a question that I have been wondering ever since the test drive. Why does the car kind of hesitate when releasing the brakes from a stop. Almost feels like the brakes hold for a split second and then release. Feels similar to a hill assist on a manual car. Or it almost feels like it starts to creep and then the actually motor takes over because youll see the rpm spike form like 750 to 1k and it will start to move faster. At first I wasnt sure if there was an issue but then I test drove another and it was exactly the same. I tried searching but didnt find anything. Thanks

It’s the clutches engaging. Kind of like a manual car, and it’s perfectly normal.

Ok thanks. I figured if it wasnt the brakes then it was something with the trans.

In other words, like most AWD cars when you hit the gas it squats on all fours first and then takes off. Most impressive on a day when the roads are wet and you have FWD and RWD cars next to you at the light and you take off from a stop.
