but, there are some of you that have solid tastes that I appreciate, with that said, here is my plan.

I searched the forums for anyone who may have tried this out. I have had OE S7 Aluminum side mirrors on my A7 for a few years. I now have a set of OE RS7 Performance Carbon mirrors. (top and bottom)

So what if I leave the bottom Aluminum and the caps Carbon, in addition to the pods being provided by BKS-carbon designz... Anyone with photo shop skills? Of course if I think it looks silly, I'll do the body color bottoms with Carbon caps.

Here are my carbon-designs mirror caps, l went with a matt black wrap on the bottom half of the mirrors.....

What colour is your car? IMHO only certain body colours can pull it off effectively. Sepang being one of them

If there's other aluminum trim on the car, leave the mirrors as is. If not, full carbon.

I kinda like that for a bit of added contrast, and even drawing some attention to the carbon mirrors. The carbon alone doesn't really pop and blends in a bit with the black paint.

i put carbon mirror caps on my phantom black S6. What a PITA job! Took em off the next day. They look great on a white car, or maybe other colors but not enough contrast on the phantom black car IMO. Put the silver back on but eventually bought some primed caps and had em painted phantom black and thats the look I like best. I basically went black optic.

As I said, certain colours can really carry the carbon mirrors. Dark colours can’t, at least in my opinion. Aluminium is the better choice for darker cars.

It can be tough to see Carbon bits on dark or black colors, it's really for us, who know... This aluminum/carbon worked out nicely, the pics don't do it justice.

I don't like contrast on the outside, nor carbon crap bits, so body-color everything was the only choice for me. Glad the only S6 left had the black optic package, or would have bought something else. But to each his own. The carbon dash was the only darker option, so okay, even though I'm not a C/F fan on cosmetic stuff.

Certainly I love the look of the black mirrors in blue or red or white cars. However I do think this pic with the carbon on the black looks good! Where did you source them

Since you requested feedback, I personally think the mirrors looked better how you had them before. Even on a different color car the mix of matte aluminum and carbon caps seems disjointed.

To each their own of course, that's why cars are awesome. Do you.

I liked the aluminum, but wanted to try something a little different. I'm very happy with the outcome. It worked better than expected. It feels good to have completed this project. Now I can keep it in good mechanical order and drive. I've got a new project I've been working on since February.

they come right from audi like that. Only like 120 bucks for both together. I got em from a shop that has a source for OEM parts.

As long as you like it that is the most important thing! Which is the opposite of what I said to one of my friends after he said that to me...." actually no , it is more important that everyone else likes it!"

One thing I left out is that I thought the carbon mirrors would have worked better on my car with lots of other carbon stuff to go along with it, and I see that you have that going on to some degree. and the aluminum breaks it up a bit.

Here is my car with aluminum mirrors, lighter colored wheels and black optics grill with brushed aluminum teeth installed. This is how it was a the time and the carbon just didn't do it for me, looked better with aluminum for sure:
