Initial Impressions (will update after break-in):

So after waiting for 5.5 months I finally got my RS3!!! Nardo Grey with BO, Tech, Dynamic. What an amazing machine! power, handling, brakes, comfort are all better than my previous K04 powered MK6 GTI! Now, I am still in the break in process, and am currently sitting at 300 miles and have not gone over 4k RPM's and maybe not even 20-30% pedal input (temptation is there though lol) and this thing hauls ass, its so smooth while it does it too. I can only imagine this tuned must be nuts!

A lot of people complain about throttle lag, turbo lag etc, and to be honest its not that bad at all i stay in sport manual mode and dynamic mode and this thing pulls the only thing i can understand is maybe since its not a floor mounted accelerator pedal, it feels like the accelerator pedal has more travel. this car is a great daily! don't know why so many youtubers are selling theirs (fonzie, willmotivation, bradford, etc) they must be spoiled by their other more powerful cars.

The suspension on this is amazing! i have it always in Dynamic and it rides better than my last car with aftermarket suspension components. I was going though some speed bumps that before would make my previous car shake, rattle and roll lol and the RS3 took it like a champ! in Dynamic too! the handling was amazing too with almost no plow though the corners!

My first tank of gas was shitty (I got 250 miles when light turned on) and i wonder what grade of fuel the dealer put in the tank, i swear after i filled up the tank with 93 oct after the empty light turned on, it felt like the car was faster. these people do what ever to save a buck or two. The tech in the car is nice too along with the lighting.

    Questions:

    1. what do i use to clean those nice big red brake calipers to not make them turn pink?

    2. is there a way to make the parking brake auto engage when i park the car?

    3. does anyone here drive more then they have to to break it in quicker? lol

    Concerns:

    1. anyone have their rad fan's on after you shut off the car? mine does it almost all the time.

    2. does gas milage get better as you get closer to break in?

    3. my oil looks more orange than light brown wtf?

(this post is work in progress, i might add more as i remember.)

Im no pro but i can try and answer some of these for you.

Q1. so far i've just used what i use on the OEM wheels to clean them. Its a spray on solution designed for aftermarket rims so as no to damage the powder coating. Its one of those spray on, leave for 5 minutes, spray off deal.
So far so good. No fade on the calibers and it gets rid of the brake dust on both the rims and calipers. I think the important part is, there's solutions that are OEM wheels only and solutions for aftermarket wheels. Get the aftermarket ones for the best possible change of protecting that color.

Q2. I feel like I've forgotten to engage the brake sometimes, but I've always found it to be on when I start the car. I cannot confirm that theres a setting or anything for auto engage.

Q3. Yeah i drove heaps more just to get through the first 100km (im from Australia so we deal in Km no miles)

    Concerns:
    1. Im new to the euro world as wellm came from JDM, had an evo. I was told that the fan is actually the system still pumping oil for cooling reasons thus no need for turbo timer. Also helps with oil longevity.

    2. Im my experience no. because after break in period is happy lead foot period. I average around 380ish km for around 45-48L

    3. No idea.

    Enjoy! :)

Use Sonax or a similar de-ionizing product to clean the wheels and brake calipers. I'm a Sonax guy and I find that very few products perform as well as it does when it comes to cleaning wheels. As for cleaning the calipers themselves, I have a smaller boars hair bristle brush and a tooth brush for the super hard to reach spots.

I think if you open the drivers door before you turn the car off, it will put the parking brake on.

As for the youtubers who quickly have sold, remember they are trying to garner attention and if everything is great or the same, well then they don’t get more attention. Look at the titles that are used by some of the British YouTube people, “this exhaust ruined my car” and other nonsense titles begging for people to click on the link.

    1. To clean wheels/calipers I have always just used car soap and water. It may be a good idea to put some type of sealer on the calipers every few months when and if you have the wheels off.
    2. Not that I have found, I admit I only use the parking brake when I am not on flat ground
    3. Hell yes lol

    1. Not every time, but several times
    2. Hard to say thus far, I get about 350 km (220 miles) before I fill which is usually between 50-80km remaining
    3. Can't say, I didn't notice a funky color, it was a bit overfull too

I figured this is also a good place to ask if there is anyway to sync the dual zone climate control so you don't have to turn each one individually. Honestly can't find the option to sync them lol.

Yeah i used car wash soap the first time. And it worked. But then again car is new and only had 250miles put on it since the last wash lol.

I’m so used to the pull handle E. Brake when i would park. Now with this button thing kinda sucks and i forget most of the time. I hate the car to creep back or forward. I don’t park on inclines but sometimes the street is not leveled.
