    Wheel hub/bearing hardware question!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so I am about to put the new hub and bearing on the spindle, but there is this circular metal ring that came with the new hardware. I know this ring goes in between the axle and the wheel bearing but I am unsure of the way it faces. I’ve seen many people not even mention this ring in DIYs. Help me out please!!

My kit came with one as well, but I didn't use it.

Front. It looks like some kind of cover maybe? I called ECS and they didn’t know either. I guess i just won’t use it. There was an old one I took out though. So I don’t know if it has any real purpose.

It's a dust cover for the bearing. You need to just place it on the hub, flat side facing the hub, and the bearing over it before you press. You should use it to prevent the bearing internals from the elements better.
