Any reason to keep the JHM Cheetah tuning cable?

Hey, guys. Long time no see.

So just like the title ... Is there any reason folks with the JHM tune should keep the Cheetah cable? I always thought I'd keep it around just in case. But just in case of what exactly?

Not sure why to keep it unless you plan on flashing anything else with it.

Shit... I flashed the JHM tune with a regular cable ;) . Yup. No reason to keep it. Lol

Would I be able to flash a JHM with a VCDS cable? I thought you had to use their specific one because of the drivers they install.

Well.... yes it's possible. I'm sure JHM doesn't like it and will tell you it's not possible, But I have flashed the jhm file to my car without using their dumb cable. That being said, head over to nefmoto and start digging. There is so much information out there it is crazy.

We use APR's flashing server to deliver our software. They require the Cheetah cable and we have to get them from APR. If there is another cable out there that works safely, by all means.

Ahhh I see. Thanks for the advice. I've already been perusing nefmoto recently as I'm thinking of diving into the world of tuning for my s4.

Sorry to revive this thread but my boss just gave me a cheetah cable. What exactly can I do with it?

Flash the jhm tune. That's pretty much it.

Is there a way we can reuse the JHM cable for diagnostic purposes?

Or do I need to fork out another $200 to replace the Ross tech cable that my Great Dane just destroyed by mistaking it as one of his chew toys.

Any chance you still have and never sold this? I can't find a cable anywhere, and I'm awaiting a backordered cable from JHM.
