Wondering if anyone is running this pump in their car in tank??I have a 044 pump However recently I went for a ride in my friends car he has a 044 in a surge tank identical to mine installed in the same location I was planning on installing mine.To make a. Long story short 044 is noisy.I am considering ditching the surge tank and 044 in favor of the walbro 450 but I can't find enough information on it when it comes to b6's.A lot of b5 s4 and A4 guys use that pump but I think the baskets for fuel pump are different.Anyone have any input???

Shoot you might wanna cancel the order for the adapter. You don't need an adapter for the Wally 450, Im running one and it's a perfect fit with a fuel pump sleeve. It snugly slides into place and sits at the exact same height from the bottom of the tank as the oem pump. I've been running one since December and have driven the car to 0mi to empty and haven't had any issues. The wiring can be used, just cut and connect to the 450 wires. No relay needed. It comes with a filter sock as well. Im using a stock filter, with a return style setup so I ran an extra line from the engine bay.

25psi on a 3071r on e85 and my fueling has been flawless with this setup.

I am running the same setup with a walbro 450 no issues. If you insist on using the 034 adapter i have one i used for my aeromotive pump i would sell cheap.

I trying to cancel we’ll see.It was a knock off adapter anyway.I would rather use the sleeve if possible. What keeps the pump in place so it doesn’t move around long term????

Also did you solder the connection/wires to the stock gas tank cap???Im guessing standard wiring is enough running from relay under the dash to the pump???what about the connection to the gas tank housing using a hose?? Or original plastic hose.

The sleeve holds the pump securely. Its a tight fit, you just push the pump up through the bottom and it will bottom out because the lower portion of the 450 is wider. Thats the same height from the bottom of the tank as the stock pump. It'll hold itself in just from the pressure of the sleeve. If you're worried about it coming loose you could put a hose clamp around the black plastic but you dont need to.

I had my pump out a couple weeks ago just to see how things are holding up with the e85 and it hadn't moved.

You'll also want this nylon corrugated hose, it's compatible with e85 and MUCH better than the one that comes with the 450. I went with the 9.25" but the 5.5" from the same seller might be better. They're cheap enough to get both to try out. You'll wanna heat the ends with a heat gun so they soften up so you can slide them over the nipples. Its the perfect diameter for our fuel setup.

For wiring I just used crimp connectors and connected the stock wiring that connects to the oem pump. No soldering or relay. Its been working flawlessly for both me and Kevin (KHARDa4)

Well the walbro comes with a connector and pig tail.So I’m assuming you crimped the pig tail to the stock wires. What kind of numbers is the walbro capable of supporting???

Yeah I thats what I did wiring wise. As far as an actual figure I'm not sure, but @25psi on e85 we're at 60% duty cycle on 1000cc injectors with no sign of a lack of fuel. I'm probably around 340whp, haven't dyno'd yet but I'd say its easily good for 400whp+

I desoldered the stock wiring on the bottom of the tank lid and soldered the pigtail / plug that comes with the 450. I ran a 10awg feed off the battery with a relay controlled by the OEM pump feed. I did this as part of my original aeromotive 340 install.

Is it necessary to run the power wire from the battery??

No, just use the wires that come off the top hat.

This is the cheapest and fastest place to get the sleeve. Fits perfectly.
