    MMI - Easy Entry Seats?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Can someone who has taken recent delivery of their S4 check for me if the easy entry function for the seats exist from the factory? Its under Vehicle Settings...Seats...Drivers seat - if it is.

When I first started playing with OBDEleven on my car - which was right after I had picked it up, I had run that one app to enable it prior to making backups of all the modules -- and I never even checked to see if it existed already in the MMI.. Fortunately, it was the only thing I had done before the backups, so I know the status of the other things I played with.

    Thanks,
    Rick

There is an option for it in the mmi, but it's a generic option that is only active for the couples. For the life of me and the sales guy we couldn't get it to activate.

Oh, it works in my car.. I just wasn’t sure if it was something I enabled through OBDEleven.
When enabled, it moves the seat all the way back when you turn the car off to make it easier to get out, and returns it to the memory position the next time you get in and turn on the car.

I have the option in MMI however my seat doesn't retract like you mentioned. Honestly, there seems to be no difference in the way the seat operates with the selection enabled. Is there something special that I need to do? Being a tall guy I have to always adjust my seat to get out and re-adjust when I get in. It would be nice if the car can do this automatically. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

I believe you also have to have the option turned on to store settings in the key -- but dont quote me on that.. I also know the feature is not terribly reliable.. Sometimes it pushes the seat back when turning off -- sometimes it doesnt.. Sometimes it doesnt move it back to the memory poosition.

Thanks, Rick. I tried both options and couldn't get a consistent experience. I'll chat with Service next time I am there. Right now I am using the Memory 1 and 2 options to move the seat back and forth. If you leave the door open and press the button you do not have to hold it down for the seat to move. So I'm trying to get into the habit of hitting it before shutting the door. Hopefully the secrets of easy entry can be figured out - it would be much easier ;0)

Ok. I took note of the behavior on mine when it was enabled..

    1) After car is turned OFF, once the door is opened, it slid the seat back. It remained in that position until I returned.
    2) When I returned and got in, seat was still back until I started car, at which point it moved forward to the memory position.

Thanks, I’ll experiment with this tomorrow. Not sure if I tried opening the door after turning off the car. Worth a shot!

I just turned it on in the settings. Also have the option set to store settings on the key, and I also saved settings to memory 1.. Remember if you have setting to store on key, you actually have to lock door with button on key fob once to save it

i have both of those options set already! can you walk me through the process you went to?

    1) both options SET on mmi menu
    2) store settings in memory (driver door)
    3) lock car with key to store to key.

now, how do I make the car "pull the seat back" when I turn car off and open door? do I need to manually pull it back once, and then it will remember to pull it out/in from there on?
    etc

I didn’t have to do anything special besides turn the option on in the MMI, sorry. Car off and when door opens it slides back. Start car and it moves forward.

You have to get it coded via OBDeleven... that's what RickNY did to get his to work

Mine didn't work for the longest time. Apparently it was because my seat was already a good ways back. Enabling/disabling through MMI/OBD11 didn't do anything. After tuning to EPL it started working out of the blue.
