    My Gen 1 R8 V10+

    Thought I’d break up all the posts about Wheels in here to post up some pics of my recently acquired R8, after a paint correction, gyeon ceramic coating, new wheels and H&R springs.

    The paint was covered in swirls so it took 4 stages of correction to achieve this finish, and then protected with the Gyeon synchro paint coatings kit. The glass, plastics, wheels and interior have all been given gtechniq protective coatings too.

    The wheels are BBS CH-R II in 20x9 and 20x10.5. Dropped 15-20mm on H&R springs to close the wheel arch gap.

    I’m loving it! The power and noise are epic. I want to get some more noise out of the exhaust though - a bit too quiet for my liking. I’ll be picking up a forza exhaust controller when I’m visiting the US next month - I have one on the RS4 and it’s a great bit of kit. It allows you full control over the exhaust valves, setting them fully open or closed irrespective of mode/gear/revs (as per OEM). That should help. I may get a custom exhaust further down the line.

    After that, I need some bucket seats!

    Man, this is a beautiful ride.

    Black is hard enough, but getting the swirls out lets the metallic flake come alive.

    Yeah it was a “parade lap” at a show... we were meant to just slowly follow the pace car for a couple of laps, hence the telling off for hanging back and then accelerating!
