Hey guys I'm having some issues with my 06 a4 2.0t. Over the winter I took the head apart to do the cam chain and tensioner, carbon clean, and replace a bunch of gaskets and sensors. After getting it all back together I'm noticing at idle my timing wanders between 0 an 12* btdc in block 03. I can fell it sorta pulse every few seconds. Well after checking over everything an putting over 1,000 miles on it it's still happening. I finally got a code for P0456 very small leak detected. This only showed after I basic setting the leak pump. So I replaced the evap purge solenoid and had cap. No fix.
When in neutral, if I rev the car up to about 1,600 rpm and hold it, there's a loud rushing/ suctioning sound coming from the gas tank. It's loud enough to make the car vibrate. It'll steadily do this every 5 seconds if I keep the rpms at 1,600. I'm having trouble diagnosing this since there are no codes, no timing pull, or knock. Car runs great and pulls good. O2 control control at idle an low rpms is everywhere tho. Just below 2,000 rpms I'm getting this pulse/ auctioning sound. Could my carbon canister be failing? Problem is more noticeable in neutral once warm.
New parts: evap selonoid, gas cap, cam position sensor, crank sensor, n205, hpfp, lp filter, cam chain+tensioner, n75, plugs, coils.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at a loss with this..
